SSC CHSL Exam Details
Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) exam is conducted for recruiting professional to different posts in several departments, ministries, and agencies under the Government of India.
SSC CHSL Posts:
- Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
- Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)
- Sorting Assistant (SA)
- Postal Assistant (PA)
- Data Entry Operator (Grade A)
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India or a national of India, Nepal, or Bhutan
- Age limit: 18–27 years; age limit varies for different positions.
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed 12th class or equivalent exam from a recognized board.
Exam Pattern
SSC CHSL exam is conducted in three stages— Tier I, II, and III.
Tier I: Computer-based Test; Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Tier II: Offline Subjective Test
Tier III: Skill Test
Exam Syllabus
SSC CGL syllabus may vary from designation to designation.
Tier I:
- General intelligence and Reasoning
- Quantitative Ability
- English Language (Basic Knowledge)
- General Awareness (Basic Arithmetic Skill)
Tier II:
- Essay Writing
- Letter/Application Writing
- Essays and letters will be based on economic reforms, national security, and other topics relevant to government.
Tier III:
- This tier is compulsory for candidates applying for DEO post in CAG.
