GATE score reflects the relative performance level of the applicant in a particular subject, which is quantified on the basis of several years of examination data.
GATE evaluates the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in several undergraduate (UG) subjects in Technology/Engineering/Architecture and PG level subjects in Science, Arts, and Commerce. Conventionally, the exam was only conducted for Mechanical Engineering , Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and IT, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering , Instrumentation Engineering , however, with the surging environmental concerns, environmental science has also been introduced as an additional subject. Other subjects of humanities, social sciences, and Commerce have also been included to widen the avenues for the students of these streams as well.
With the rising uncertainties in the economy of India and the world, students from every academic stream can widen their horizons by clearing GATE. As the private sector is susceptible to market forces, students can venture into the public sector by clearing this national level test.
