IBPS RRB Exam: An Overview
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts IBPS Regional Rural Bank (RRB) Exam for recruiting Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager), II (Manager), and III (Senior Manager) for RRBs/Gramin Banks across India.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be
- Citizen or National of India; or
- Subject of Bhutan; or
- Subject of Nepal.
- Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intent of permanently residing in India; or
- POI who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Zambia, Zaire, Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, and Ethiopia to India with an intend to permanently settle in the country.
- Age limit:
- For Office Assistant: 18–28 years
- For Officer Scale I: Above 18 years and Below 30 years
- For Officer Scale II: Above 21 years and Below 32 years
- For Officer Scale III: Above 21 years and Blow 40 years
- This is applicable to General Category and EWS category candidates
- Age relaxations
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- PWDs: 10 years
- Widows, Divorced Women, Women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried: 9 years (only for Office Assistants)
- Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years
- Person domiciled in J&K during 1/1/1980–31/12/1989: 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen (must have served for more than 3 years in defence forces): Maximum age limit is 50 years ( only for Office Assistants)
3. Educational Qualification:
- Office Assistant and Officer Scale I: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent from a recognized University
- Officer Scale II( General Banking Officer): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent form a recognized University + 2 years as an officer in a Bank /Financial Institute
- Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer): Bachelor’s degree in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent + 1 year experience in relevant field. ( Refer official website for more details)
- Officer Scale III: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent form a recognized University + Minimum 5 years as a Manager in Bank/ Financial Institute.
