SSC CGL Exam Details
Staff Section Commission Graduate Level (SSC CGL) Exam aims to recruit people for Group B and Group C posts in several departments of the Government of India. This national level exam is conducted for the following designations:
Group B SSC CGL Posts:
- Assistant Audit Officer (Indian Audit & Accounts Department)
- Assistant Accounts Officer (Indian Audit & Accounts Department)
- Assistant Section Officer(Ministry of Railway, Central Secretariat Service, Ministry of External Affairs, Intelligence Bureau, and Armed Forces Head Quarter)
- Assistant (Other Departments/Organizations/Ministries)
- Central Excise Inspector (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs)
- Inspector of Income Tax (Central Bureau of Direct Tax)
- Inspector (Central Bureau of Narcotics)
- Sub Inspector (Central Bureau of Investigation)
- Assistant Enforcement Officer (Enforcement Directorate under Department of Revenue)
- Statistical Investigator Grade-II (Registrar General of India)
Group C SSC CGL Posts
- Auditor (Offices under Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) and Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG))
- Tax Assistant (CBDT and CBIC)
- Senior Secretariat Assistant/Upper Division Clerks (Central Ministries and Government Offices other than CSCS cadres)
- Accountant/Junior Accountant (Several Ministries and Departments of Centre)
- Upper Division Clerks (Central Government Departments)
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Must be a Citizen of India, Bhutan, or Nepal
- Age limit: 18–32 years, depending on the designation. Age relaxations are available for reserved categories.
- Educational Qualification: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- Physical Fitness: Required only for posts like sub-Inspector and Inspector
Exam Pattern
SSC CGL exam is conducted in 4 stages— Tier I, II, III, and IV. Tier IV exam is only for some specific posts. Candidates need to clear the previous stages to appear for the final tier.
Tier I: Online Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
