SSC Exams: An Overview
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exams are conducted to recruit staffs for different posts in various organizations, departments, and ministries under the Government of India. The Commission organizes the following exams to appoint staff for Group B and Group C government posts:
- SSC Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) Examination
- SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) Examination
- SSC Joint Engineer (SSC JE) Examination
- SSC General Duty (SSC GD) Examination
- SSC Central Police Organization (SSC CPO) Examination
- SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (SSC MTS) Examination
- SSC Stenographer Examination
Common Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
- Aspirants from other nations can
- Age limit: 18 to 32 years
- SSC GD: 18–23 years
- SSC CHSL: 18–27 years
- SSC JE: 18–32 years
- SSC CPO: 20–25 years
- SSC CGL: 18–32 years
- SSC MTS: 18–25 years
- SSC Stenographer: 18–30 years
- Educational qualification: Each exam has different requirements:
- SSC GD: Candidate must hold a Matriculation certificate i.e. must have passed 10th standard from a recognized Board.
- SSC CHSL: Applicants must have cleared the Class 12 board or equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
- SSC JE: Aspirants must possess a Diploma or Graduation degree in various fields of Engineering, based on the position for which they are applying.
- SSC CPO: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or must have passed an equivalent exam from a recognized University.
- SSC CGL: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Institute or University.
- SSC MTS: Aspirants must hold a pass certificate of Matriculation or an equivalent exam from a recognized Board.
- SSC Stenographer: Applicants must have cleared Class 12 exam or and equivalent exam from a recognized Board.
