It is my immense pleasure to introduce the book on Nutrition and Health (For Diploma Nursing). The book has been developed as per prescribed syllabus (2016) by The Indian Council for Diploma Nursing studnets. The Science of nutrition is mainly concerned with defining the nutrional requirements for the promotion, prototection and maintenance of health in all group of the population. It has been my sincere endeavour to make this book different from the innumerable text available. I have put all my efforts to ensure that the information contained herein is in every respect accurate and complete. Some important features of the book are: The study material has been organized in a simple and an easy language as per syllabus prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council for Diploma Nursing Students (2016). New concepts and latest development have been included. Well-labelled diagrams, summarising tables and coloured clinical pictures/photographs have been incorporated to make learning easy. Many study questions have been included at the end of each chapter. The students would find it easy to attempt any question in the form of objective or sub-objective type.
