This book is intended to serve as a textbook for the students taking the course on Basic Electronics (First Semester B.E.) prescribed by the VTU.Fundamental principles and applications of electronics are described herein in a clear and concise way with explanatory diagrams. Chapter 5 is concerned with field-effect transistors. Special devices like silicon-controlled rectifiers and unijunction transistors form the subject-matter of Chapter 6. Basic amplifiers feedback in amplifiers and oscillators are discussed in Chapters 7, 8, and 9, respectively. Operational amplifiers are taken up in Chapter 10. Modulation and communication systems are included in Chapter 11, Number systems and digital logic are covered in Chapter 12.
