Applied Solid State Physics is a text/reference book for students studying a course in engineering and M.Sc. (Solid State Physics). The text has been written with the aim of presenting the physical principles, by which the different physical properties of materials have to be understood, and highlighting the engineering applications of materials. The exposition of the structure-property relationships in materials is the underlying theme of the book. Solved examples, questions and problems are provided at the end of each chapter. It is difficult to draw a rigid boundary between the pure and applied aspects of the physics of materials.
