About Product
This textbook is written as an introductory course in modern physics including the theory of relativity, quantum mechanics and applications. The main objective of the text is to instil in the student an appreciation of the concepts and methods of twentieth century physics. In physics the ability to apply principles to numerical examples is of immense importance. If the student studies the worked examples and then solves the problems, it is hoped that he will get a better grasp of the principles than if he simply reads through the text. It is with this object in view that a large number of worked examples and problems are provided at the end of the chapters.
