Br.T. Usha — The Queen of Indian track and field for two decades was called by many names — ‘Payyoli express’’, Udanpari’ (flying fairy), Asian sprint queen, ‘running machine’ — because of her speed on the race-track — and ‘Golden girl’ — because she has won a large number of gold medals. As an athlete with a career spanning two decades she established seven National br.T. Usha 1 br.T. Usha records, missed the Olympics Bronze by 1/100th of a second and took part in five editions of the Asian games including the one in which she won four gold medals.
