Abdul Kalam was born on October 15; 1931 in an ordinary Tamil family of Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. His full name is Abul Pakir Jainulabedin Abdul Kalam. His father Jainulabedin and mother Aashiamma were a simple and religious-minded couple. They held an honourable place in the society and were regarded as an ideal couple. They lived in a joint family.
