The original title of the manuscript was ‘the honest sufferer’. the title reflected the inner pain and turmoil that he may have gone through in the short life he lived, to live by his own high standards of honesty. This novel can be described as fictionalized biography of Siddhartha, with his hero suraj’s character reflecting his own life while other characters and stories around him have been fictionalized as per demands of the writer in him. This novel is a tribute to all fine human beings who live their lives on principles of truth and integrity and gives us hope that there is and will always be goodness in the world.
